On July 1, at the 89th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the sucessful closing of the first Party Congress of the Group, the Group Party Committee convened a video confenrence on boosting the spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best & “July 1” commendation. During the conference, advanced party organizations at the primary level, outstanding party members, and excellent party workers were commended, and the activity to boost the spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best were mobilized and organized.

Chaired by Li Jianzhang, deputy secretary of Group Party committee, the conference was attended by over 200 people, including the Group leadership, party members in-service at direct Group party branches, applicants for party membership, party member cadres at middle-level and above of Sinotrans Limited, retired Group party brach committee members and advanced party organizeations at the primary level, outstanding party members, and excellent party worker representatives. Meanwhile, party member cadres at middle-level and above of sub-companies and those commended were present at the video conference at local conference rooms.

Mr. Zhao Huxiang, Group president and deputy secretary of the Party committee read out the Decisions on Commending Advanced Party Organizations at the Primary Level, Outstanding Party Members, and Excellent Party Workers by the Group party committee. He suggested that party organizations at each level and all party members shall take the commended units and individuals as a good example, give full play to the role of primary party organizations as the fighting bastion and party members as exemplary vanguard. They shall boost their morale and do their works more effectively and solidly, so as to make more new contributons to the Group reform, development and stability, and the propulsion for indepth reconstruction.

Liu Xihan, Group Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman Miao Gengshu, President Zhao Huxiang, deputy secretary Li Jianzhang, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Zhang Jianwei, Tao Suyun, and Dong Jianjun presented awards to the commended units and individuals.

Li Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan Changjiang Ship Corporation, and Xue Jun, member of the World Expo Project Team, logistics branch of Eastern Company Limited, made a spreech respectively about their experience on behalf of advanced primary party organizations and excellent party members.

Secretary Liu Xihan, on behalf of group party committee, made an address on boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best, with focus on three points:

Firstly, to deeply understand the important meaning of the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best and actively serve for the scientific development of the Group. The activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best fully reflected that the Chinese Party Central Committee has attached great importance to strengthening the building of the party and primary party organizations at the new age; it’s imperative for consolidating the results of expanding learning and carrying out the scientific outlook on development; it’s an important means to propel the Group’s harmonious reconstruction, scientific development, and to enhance the scientific level of the party-building career; and it’s an effective platform for the Group to select, gather, cultivate and take advantage of talents.

Secondly, to understand the essence of the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best, and give prominence to the characteristics of enterprise practice. Party organizations at all levels shall, combining the reality of corporate operation, guarantee three “accurate grasps”: first, to accurately grasp the overall requirements and main objectives of the activity; second, to grasp the main content and essence of spirit of the activity, and refine the activity standards; third, to accurately grasp the important stages and propelling steps of the activity, so as to make sure taking into consideration every aspect of the matter.

Thirdly, to make great efforts in carrying out the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best, so as to ensure achieving expected objectives.

The Group party committee attached great importance to the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best. On June 12, the conference on increasing the members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee was held. During the conference, the problem of carrying out the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best was studied and organized, a leading team and working organization were set up, and opinions on implementing the activity were collected. All units shall pay great attention to strengthening communication, actively conduct all kinds of activities to boost the spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best, and do an effective job.

Secretary Liu Xihan stressed that leadership at all levels and staff of the Group shall, with a high sense of responsibility, the spirit of reform and innovation, the attitude of looking for the truth and being practical, conduct the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best in a pragmatic manner, continuously improve and consolidate the party organizations’ political leadership, reform, innovation, and cohesiveness, give full play to the party organizations’ role as political core and the party members’ role as an exemplary model, and spare no efforts to realize the Group’s expected objectives.

Deputy Secretary Li Jianzhang read out the name list of the leading team and office members of the activity of boosting spirit of pioneering and striving to be the best, and put forth specific requirements for party organizations at each level in carefully carrying out the essence of Secretary Liu Xihan and working demands.

Meanwhile, the name list of advanced primary party organizations, outstanding party members and excellent party workers of central enterprises of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission（SASAC）were relased at the conference.
