At 10:30 a.m. on May 25, the unveiling ceremony of PLA Shipping Military Representative Office in SINOTRANS & CSC was held in Jinyun Building in Beijing, which is an important decision of the Central Military Commission to adapt to national shipping system reform and to further strengthen strategic delivery capacity building, and also the major action of SINOTRANS & CSC to implement the national defense strategy of "integrating military with civilian purpose and combining military efforts with civilian support".

At the unveiling ceremony, General Sun Dafa, Commissar of the General Logistics Department of PLA, Xu Zuyuan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport, and Shao Ning, Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission（SASAC）, respectively delivered important speeches and raised specific requirements. President Zhao Huxiang and Su Xiaoming, Director of the Military Representative Office, made speeches and took a stand respectively. A total of over 100 persons including Major General Zhao Zhanping, Director of Department of Military Transportation of the General Logistics Department, Group Chairman Miao Gengshu, Secretary Liu Xihan, leaders from China Ocean Shipping Group and the PLA Beijing military transportation departments, group leadership, and heads of all departments and offices attended the opening ceremony.

Lieutenant General Qin Yinhe, Deputy Director of the General Logistics Department of PLA, declaimed the Reply of the General Staff Department on Agreeing on the Adjustment and Disposition of Shipping Military Representative Office in SINOTRANS & CSC. Finally, Commissar Sun Dafa, Deputy Director Qin Yinhe, Xu Zuyuan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport, Shao Ning, Deputy Director of SASAC, Zhao Zhanping, Director of Department of Military Transportation of the General Logistics Department, and Group Chairman Miao Gengshu, jointly inaugurated the Military Representative Office.

That the PLA is moving into a central transportation company to carry out military transportation work is an important strategic measure for China's national defense building in the new period and also the needs of development of market economy and military modernization, which will upgrade the overall level of standardization and modernization of the military transportation and improve the overall support capability and rapid response capability of military transportation. The establishment of the Shipping Military Representative Office in our Group will be more conducive to building a smooth working relationship, the overall use of transport resources, the effective linkage of various sectors, and strengthening the strategic water delivery capacity of the army so as to ensure the completion of military transportation support tasks in oceans, coastal and the Yangtze River regions.
